Lots of family fun....

Our focus is lots of family fun. The kids are growing up way too fast and we want to enjoy every minute we can with them.

This weekend has been so much fun;
Family fun game night, movies, mini golf, grilling out, birthday party, and going to a family Bar-B-Q on Sunday.

        Mike is such an awesome father & partner!

Crazy cooking in the kitchen

So today I went to the health food store which is always a dangerous thing!
We love to make our own trail mix. We add pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, mixed nuts, dark chocolate organic chips, & lightly salted soy nuts (all seeds and nuts are roasted).  I also wanted to make kale chips which turned out really good.

                                                                                                                                                                  I also wanted to make a smoothie, a super green magnesium filled smoothie. Let's just say that will not be happening ever again. Mine looked nothing like the photo. Raw chard, raw beat tops, green grapes , blueberries, 1/2 a lemons juice, cucumber and papaya.

Tonight I made swiss chard and fresh beats everyone ate it and most enjoyed them we voted and they will stay on our menu.
I just steamed them not really sure what else to do with it??

The best was what Michael made, from scratch; strawberry, banana, and; yellow kiwi bread. He did such a great job!! We served it for dessert warm with a side of vanilla ice cream. Everyone loved loved loved it. Even picky Maddy.

Tropical storm Debby

 Tropical Storm Debby

Enough is enoughalready!! It has been raining forever and we are going stir crazy.

So we have been trappedinside most of the day Saturday and all day today. After lunch mike yelled getyour poncho and meet me outside. The children quickly, without question put onwater shoes and a poncho and ran for the door. Mike was outside waiting withlittle plastic boats. Our streets are slightly flooded but the water is moving steadydown the street to the drain. So it began our first boat race! Everyone had ablast! Madison’s boat was the winner the first few races, after that I stoppedcounting. They played in the rain and eventually the ponchos came off. Dadreally scored some brownie points with this fun activity. Afterwards Michaelcame in side and made hot cocoa for everyone, yummy.

We ended the evening with a Nerf gun fight; this seems to be a popular activity these days.

Looks like we are going to have a few more rainy day ahead of us, maybe a movie tomorrow!
