Science Experiment-Wonder Worms

Today was finally the day we were able to do our second experiment with earthworms. Michael's kindergarten teacher gave us a great website http://insectlore.stores.yahoo.net/ladlanwitliv.html from this website we purchased ladybug larvae, which unfortunately did not have a very happy ending. we also purchased earthworm eggs. These eggs have continuously hatched for three months now. Now with all of our eggs hatched it was time to move on to the second part of the experiment.
One of Mike's favorite books is Up Close! Exploring Nature. We are constantly referencing this book for all of the bugs that Michael finds in the backyard.

We had a lot of fun with this project. We can't wait to see how long it will take the earthworms to mix the different compounds together.
When this experiment is complete daddy and mike are going fishing with some big fat earthworms. to see all of the photos from this experiment please go to http://www.dropshots.com/CAROLYN919CAROLYN. Have a great Labor Day weekend.

  2. This is VERY neat! Zack wants to grow them now too. We ordered a catalog from the link you provided. I'm afraid to ask, but what happened to the ladybug larvae?
